Day 106: Fairgrounds Tent
2026-05-23
Hello! I'm enjoying the weekend, and I've finally wrapped up the logistics for an exciting upcoming event. Took me long enough.
In the meantime, I'm still looking back at the photographs I took from the arts market last week. The weather was much warmer, the parking lots were much fuller, and I had cash burning a hole in my pocket that I just had to spend while exploring the booths.
I bought three things from the tile fest: a small tray with an image of a fish, a flat tile with a peacock, and a molded and textured tile with a bee (or wasp?). They all found a home with someone else, because I think these are perfect gift items: small, inexpensive (but not too cheap), and artsy. Love it.
The original photo was much darker, because I exposed for the light coming from outside the tent. The bright sunlight contrasted with the string lights glowing inside the tent too much, so I lowered the contrast and lessened the impact of the white highlights reflecting from outside.
I was considering using a black and white preset or some kind of filter over this, but I kept it close to the real colors that I saw with my own eyes.
On the car ride to and from the marketplace, I listened to Earth, Wind, and Fire's Greatest Hits album on a CD that is still in the car today. September is great, but my favorite EWF song is Getaway.
