Day 123: Gamble on the New Seeds
2026-06-09
First, a short addendum for yesterday's article: I was being intentional about my casual attitude for changing my name and building a new life. If I moved to Britain as was my original intent many seasons ago (a story for another time, perhaps?) I would have changed my name — not to Maria Roland, but to something else. Changing your name is a trivial matter for British citizens, and I'm a bit jealous. It's not worth going back to the original article and adding this information; it's just something I wanted to add in brief.
Hello! This is the final in a four-day series of dice in random spots where dice shouldn't be.
The dice seeds have been planted, they have grown and bloomed, and they have matched my website's day counter. Now, I'm putting the new seeds back in the ground for a future harvest.
I was hoping for some really lucky (or unlucky!) event to happen in my life to occur that I could talk about, but nothing of public interest happened. That in itself could be a good thing.
When I wake up and have a headache (or painful cramp), I complain and annoy my folks. But I don't do the opposite. I don't feel grateful or blessed enough when I wake up just fine, or when my heart beats like normal, and my brain steady as it should be. That's just usual life... until it's not.
In short, appreciate the small things and don't let them pass you by, unchecked and taken for granted. If you start the day with a small amount of gratitude that your back hasn't given up on you, you start the day off on the right track. Laughter may be the best medicine, but self-love and gratitude might be a close second.
... Don't take any medical advice from some guy writing a blog on the Internet. I'll even generalize it: don't, ever, take any serious advice from the unsourced rambly Internet. Don't take this seriously, or anything that I say. Buy NFTs or something, they're still around, right?
Finally, throwing darts on national TV. I give no explanation. I have none.
