Day 28: March Basketball Six

Hello! This is part of a one-week series showcasing my basketball sports photo work. I know March Madness technically hasn't started, but these aren't official March Madness photos either, so it's fine.

Magnified photos are conventional in sports photography. Isolate the subject, freeze the motion, etc. But during practice, I was free to be experimental and try some new ideas before this high school basketball game.

While the varsity boys basketball team practiced, I stood behind the net with the wide-angle lens and kept three things in the frame: the lights (with equal reflection on the shiny wood floor), the player, and the net.

I edited this photo, aiming for a style. I'm not sure if I like it or not, but while I'm going for experimental angles, I might as well try something.
