Dark, wooden wall partially obstructs outside view of dry grass, shrubs, and trees.
Taken on 2026-03-09. I wouldn't even be surprised if I later came back to go birdspotting.

Day 33: Nature Lookout

2026-03-11

Hello!

I loaded my schedule with lots of photography opportunities near my hometown, I emailed various local event organizers to take photos for them, and I'm travelling across highways searching for something specific. In short, I'm keeping myself busy.

This photo is special because I've been here before. Not at this precise spot, but at the same park. This is the town garden and nature reserve, part of the larger park. I have photos of a younger me at the park, and I've been meaning to revisit.

I have vague memories of this park, but the old pictures show more than I remember. At my brief revisit, I walked a kilometer of trails and took in the sights. Fool's Spring is upon us, and I'm falling for it. The 20-degree weather is treating us well, and the flowers are sprouting. Even my amateur garden is starting to show color. I should make a post about that someday...

Finally, some industry news. I previously mentioned that I was interested in Japan's CP+ trade show, and would be willing to experiment with new ideas and gadgets in photography.

I was too optimistic. All reported announcements relate to new and expensive lenses that don't fit my current camera, and any lectures and resources are either exclusively in-person or in another language.

Thank you for visiting this blog! Special thanks to the newsletter subscribers; you get this photo a week before the internet does :-).

Cheers,
David
